It was the closing balance of the previous statement. closing balance The final balance, or total amount, of an account at a particular point in time. In the context of a statement, it is the total amount held in the account after all reported transactions have been included. interim opening balance A balance for the account that is struck as a temporary opening measure, such as the brought forward balance for a partial statement. interim closing balance A balance for the account that is struck as a temporary closing measure, such as the carried forward balance for a partial statement. balance to be confirmed Balance to be confirmed by customer. Used in some counties for legal reasons. value date balance The account balance which will apply on the specified value date, on the basis of known forward transactions, and on which interest will apply. closing available balance The amount available for use taking into account credit limits. forward available balance The amount forecast to be available on a specified date.
